Overview

The Supervisor, Accounting and Reporting, is responsible for executing proper processes and controls within the Controllership area to support the organization’s business objectives. This role prepares financial and ad-hoc reports according to US GAAP and MX GAAP and executes procedures to meet deadlines during month-end close and to support evolving demands of a public company. This position partners with the Shared Services organization to drive improvements across the accounting function to support growth and standardization.


 

Job Qualifications

HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT: 

  • Prepares monthly financial statements according to MX and US GAAP and ad-hoc reports in collaboration with internal teams.
  • Performs financial and variance analysis as required.
  • Completes monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
  • Participates in inventory management and accounting for both on-site and 3PL inventories.
  • Coordinates month end accounting activities, ensuring proper accounting of expenses, accruals, leases, payments and prepayments, discounts, liabilities, etc.
  • Properly accounts for capital expenditures, disposals, depreciation, and track capex budgets.
  • Promotes compliance with internal controls over financial accounting and reporting.
  • Prepares schedules and ad-hoc analysis during the annual audit process in coordination with external auditors.
  • Provides mentorship and professional development to team members.
  • Participates in special projects and additional duties as assigned.

 

TEAM DYNAMICS:  

  • This position has frequent interaction with team members as well as resources in GBS supporting operation in Mexico. Additionally, this position interacts with different positions and organizational levels across the company.

 

LEADERSHIP AND SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Coordinates the work of 3 staff members.

 

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUCCESS: 

 

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is a must.
  • CPA or similar accounting certification is desirable but not necessary.
  • Advanced level in English, oral and written.

 

Experience

  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in an Accounting Firm (Big Four- KPMG, Deloitte, Ernst & Young, PWC) in external audit (Assurance).
  • Experience in financial reporting, data analytics, systems implementation.
  • Exposure to a corporate environment is desirable.
  • 2+ years of experience supervising a team

 

Skills/Certifications 

  • Proficiency in Mexican and US GAAP
  • Experience with ERP and reporting solutions such as Oracle, SAP, Onestream, Hyperion, etc.
  • Tax knowledge
  • Data analysis and ability to work with big sets of data
  • Project management skills
