POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

The role acts as Finance business partner in providing robust financial planning and analysis & commercial support for the Central Functions of Mexico Region. Provide information to measure relevant performance targets and to help in forecasting and planning accordingly to steer Country and Regional finances to achieve desired financial, operational and strategic objectives. From the in-depth operational and financial knowledge of this role, expectation is to provide Senior Management of the region, with clear and accurate data analysis, financial & commercial insight highlighting both financial and operational risks and opportunities for business growth for Mexico as a whole, in short, medium and long term planning. This role also has the key responsibility in assess central projects and respective approvals.


DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Specific:
Reporting: responsible for all Functional reporting including Budgets, Forecasts and Actuals
Approvals: responsible for all Functional approvals

General

Responsible for leading, managing and execution of the Central Functions’ financial planning, Headcount and OPEX forecasting, long-range planning, scenario testing and budgeting processes. Any cost drivers of Operating Expenditure and Capital Expenditure, including preparation of presentations, participation and presenting at certain forecast and budget review meetings.

Develop monthly management reports and other ad hoc reports to highlight business issues and support in recommendations for performance improvement and ensure these reports are produced by the agreed deadlines including working closely with Functional departments to define performance indicators and implement new reporting tools; monitor performance results and propose actions to support the business.

Play a support role in in the Financial Reporting Center of Excellence group that is being built by the Global FP&A Financial Systems team and act as a bridge to gap Mexico Functional reporting requirements to system capacity, capabilities and delivery, while applying global best practices.
Manage and support the relationship between Mexico Functional Leads and FP&A team on Budgets, Forecast and any other support to maintain good service level and deliver expectations

Key business partner VP’s, Country Directors, Department Heads, Mexico FP&A Director and Mexico Senior Management with support in various areas such as:

Financial Planning and Analysis, Financial Accounting, Financial Modeling, Scenario Modeling, Budgeting and Forecasting, Cost Control, Business Performance & Metrics, Commercial Insight and Observations, Risk Management, Projects (IT, Supply Chain, NCO/remodeling,3PL etc.) and various other ad-hoc requirements.

Evaluate and review monthly forecasts, business plans/schedules and budgets as submitted by Functions and impact on local country and departmental teams; consolidate data for the region.

Support in identifying risks/opportunities and necessary action steps in response to key variances; upgrade the integrity of financial forecast process; research and prepare complete responses to questions arising during monthly financial review meetings with Mexico FP&A Director and Mexico Senior Management.

Support for the development of complex forecasting and modeling techniques to support business decisions with investments, cost saving, risk management, efficiency and growth opportunities.

Responsible for the adaptation of financial analysis methods to support Mexico and Corporate objectives, working with all major financial analysis approaches, quantitative and qualitative measures. Responsible for the interpretation and drawing of reliable conclusions from industry financial data and seen as the subject matter expert in complex financial/data analysis.

Support the development of multiple cost/benefit analyses in different organizational areas and making recommendations for alternative approaches to determining the cost/benefit ratio. Including correlating quantified benefits with user objectives and presenting it in a way that is easy to understand for non-financial related parties.

Support Functional Projects and Approval process, advising requirements to align with Corporate Policies and Procedures and approvals required as per Corporate and Mexico Authorization matrix.


ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS:
Regional Vice Presidents, Functional Heads, Country Directors/Managers, Country Finance Managers/Controllers, Mexico Regional Finance, Operations and Management Team, Other FP&A team members at Mexico HQ and Corporate.

Interacts with all levels throughout the Functions, sub-region entities, local auditors and local advisers


 

Job Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

TECHNICAL SKILLS

Qualification - part qualified in Finance or CIMA / ACCA / Economics (finalist) or equivalent would be an advantage or by experience.
Fluent in English, other languages advantageous.
6 years of experience gained within an International / Multi-national company, preferably with a US parent.
6 years or more of experience in FP&A or management reporting area with exposure to high level management- VPs, Country Directors.
Significant experience with a full spectrum of financial analysis.
Hands-on experience with rates of return, depreciation, working capital and investments.  Familiar with each of the line items of common financial reports, as well as varied financial factors that impact the organization’s bottom line.  Familiar with major financial instruments available in the market. Able to recognize and analyze problems with financial methods and procedures.
Extensive experience with a variety of forecasting and modeling techniques.  
Experience with complex data analysis and providing business insight.
Proven track record of achievement in financial management within a commercial environment.
Ability to develop complex financial models to evaluate sales growth initiatives and cost reduction opportunities and make recommendations for improving the overall profit of the Country/Sub-Region.
Business oriented with the ability to demonstrate strategic thinking by understanding the business environment and its players.
In-depth knowledge of PC-based budgeting tools, both use and implementation; proficient with Microsoft Excel.
